Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Primer Review

Hey everyone!

This is a review on the Smashbox Cosmetics’ Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer!

Here is a bit of information from the website: The key to healthier, younger-looking skin? Hydration, as any studio artist will tell you. The latest addition to our legendary primer family immediately quenches skin and seals in moisture for hours after, thanks to Hydraplex, an extract derived from desert plants. • Oil-free and lightweight• Smoothes fine lines and pores• Extends makeup wear.

Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Primer gives my sensitive skin a much needed and appreciated moisture lift! The refreshing formula is lightweight and oil free, so it doesn’t clog my pores as other primers have in the past. Its icy blue color rubs in clear and dries to a silky, smooth finish to help reduce the pores and fine lines, leaving my face ready for foundation. Still, I do notice that the primer has a tendency to wear off rather quickly in super oily areas.

Beauty Tip:

Smooth a pea-size amount over clean skin with fingertips for a visibly softer, smoother complexion.

This product retails for $42.00.

Pros:
~Leaves skin feeling smooth and hydrated
~Cool, icy blue color that goes on clear
~A little goes a long way
~Slimmer packaging
~Paraben free

Cons:
~Primer wears off in oily areas after a few hours
~A bit pricey

Overall, I rate this product at 3.75 out of 5 sugarcubes! Looking for a little magic, then how about Smashbox Cosmetics’ Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer, it’s like having your own blue genie in a tube.

XoXo,
Whitney

I just got a Smashbox primer too. I got the purple one. I agree with you that it does not do a good job in oil-control. It's also pricey. I got the one in a pump bottle thinking that I could save more.
