Essie Blanc Nail Polish

Hey everyone!

I love the look of a clean manicure, and in the summer, nails painted white make you look super tan! On one of my many trips to Walgreens, I spotted this nail polished from Essie, and just knew I needed it for spring and summer!

This nail polish is a beautiful basic white shade, that really makes your nails look clean and polished. I find that it does apply rather streaky, so two to three coats are needed to insure your nails look perfect. The drying time takes a while too, so make sure you take that into account before painting your nails if you're in a rush!

TATCHA Luminous Dewy Skin Mist

Hey everyone!

I have picky skin when it comes to the summer months. Most of the time it is an oily mess, but other times, it can be dry and irritated. Also, my skin can suffer from breakouts if I use too heavy of products. Recently, the lovely ladies from TATCHA sent me their Luminous Dewy Skin Mist to try out and review for you all!

This skin mist is so luxurious, I feel as if I am at a spa every time I use it. All I do is take the bottle out of my bag (yes, I love to travel with this too!), shake it up, and mist my face two or three times. I find that this mist is light enough to use during the summer months, but still is moisturizing so that my dry skin feels refreshed. I love this product, and I haven't gone anywhere without it!

Here is what TATCHA has to say:

What it is:

A silky liquid moisturizer of Squalane, Red Algae and our HADASEI-3 complex can be misted for a boost of soothing hydration, resulting in dewy, luminous skin anytime, anywhere.

Why it's different:

This milky emulsion contains moisturizers and humectants leaving skin rehydrated. Does not contain high levels of alcohol and fragrance found in conventional hydrating sprays, which can dry out the skin.

Who it's for:

Ideal for dry and combination skin.

How to use:

Shake bottle gently, close your eyes and mist onto the face (2-3 pumps) for a boost of soothing hydration.

This product retails for $48.00, and can be purchased at www.tatcha.com!

Bath & Body Works Honolulu Sun Foaming Hand Soap Review

Hey everyone!

I love everything to do with the beach, in fact, I would live there if I could! However, since my backyard isn't the ocean, I have to make due anyway I can to bring the beach life indoors. Recently, when I was in Bath & Body Works, I spotted their new Honolulu Sun Foaming Hand Soap, and of course, I added it straight away to shopping bag!

This soap smells like a delicious, tropical getaway! In fact, it smells like coconuts and sunscreen to me! It lathers nicely in your hands, and the scent lingers on your skin for a while after using it.

Here is what Bath & Body Works has to say:

Our Gentle Foaming Hand Soap Delivers a cloud of luxurious foam that transforms into a rich, creamy lather to gently wash away dirt and germs. Now enriched with nourishing Aloe and protective Vitamin E, our best foam ever leaves hands feeling soft, smooth and lightly scented.
  • A sun-kissed getaway of fresh island coconut and Pacific palm

Urban Decay Illuminated Review

Hey everyone!

This past month, I have been everywhere! From finishing up classes to going to the beach, I have been a busy girl! Since my birthday was also in this month, my mom got me the Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Powder to play with!

Love the fun design of the packaging!

The product is housed in a sturdy cardboard style container that has magnetic closures.

Here is the gorgeously, awesome glitter ball! This powder has super fine shimmers running throughout it, and basically it is a shimmer fest wherever you place it! I love to wear it dusted along my arms, shoulders, and chest for a fun, summer, glow!

Underneath the product is another compartment that contains a brush. This brush works great at picking up just enough product to use without wasting any of that glitteriness!

Overall, I absolutely love this glitter ball!

Mini Wet Brush Review

Hey everyone!

Oh, how I love my full size The Wet Brush! I use it everyday to brush through my hair after my shower. Well, I plan to travel a bit this summer, and a full size hair brush is not going to cut it. I needed something to take that was small enough to toss into my makeup bag without a second thought. Well, that need has been solved, because I found The Wet Brush Mini on my last trip into Ulta!

The Wet Brush Mini has all the same feature as the full sized brush, but it's a third of the size and great for travel! Wait until you check it out yourself, your will be so happy with how adorable it is up close! This brush was small enough to tuck into my makeup bag for the beach, but large enough to brush my hair with ease! Definitely a winner in my book, or should I say blog?!

Korres Basil Lemon Shower Gel Review

Hey everyone!

I love shower gels! In fact, I have several just waiting for me to use that I always seem to buy whenever there is a sale. Recently, I was sent the Korres Basil and Lemon shower gel to try out and review for you all.

First off, let me just begin by stating that this shower gel smells incredible! It has a fresh, sweet scent thanks to the basil. But, it also has a crisp citrus scent due to the lemon! Basically, this shower gel smells fantastic!

All I do to use this is to apply a quarter size drop (I like a lot of foam) on my wash cloth, and get to work scrubbing myself down! I find that this shower gel foams nicely, conditions my skin, and leaves behind a soft scent.

Overall, I love this shower gel, and I will be picking it up again once this bottle runs out!

This product retails for $19.50, and can be purchased at www.korres.com!

Korres Lip Butter Review

Hey everyone!

As all of you know by now, I am a lip product junkie. I believe it to be my personal mission in life to try almost every single lip product out there on the market. Recently, I was lucky enough to be sent two Korres Lip Butters in the shades Guava and Quince!

These lip butters come packaged in paper tins that can be recycled! (I love when products aren't wrapped in plastic).

The jars themselves are great, because the lid seals tightly, and I know I don't have to worry about it opening in my bag and be messed up. However, since these are jar style lip butters, I tend to leave them at home for use, because I don't like the idea of sticking my fingers into a product when I am out and about.

Guava is a simple, yet pretty white/clear balm, while Quince leans more towards the hot pink spectrum. Each balm is easy to apply, and melts seamlessly into your lips. I love to apply Guava right before a lipstick, and Quince as a more natural lip color option. Both butters leave my lips feeling nourished and soft. Plus, these products smell incredible!

These products retail for $12.00 each, and can be purchased at www.korres.com!

Finger-Licking Friday #13

Hey everyone!

I was wanting to try out a new recipe, when I came across one for a Chinese stir fry! Now, this isn't near or even close to the online recipe (I like to have a base idea to go off of), but I think it worked out well for my family since it was packed full of veggies!

TATCHA Luminous Deep Hydration Lifting Mask

Hey everyone!

Does your skin need a boost? Well, I believe I have the answer you're looking for from TATCHA! Thanks to the beautiful ladies at TATCHA, I was sent their Luminous Deep Hydrating Lifting Mask to review for you all!

This mask works great at giving your skin a surge of moisture, in a very short time frame, whenever you need it! After trying it out, I can definitely say that this mask does what it claims. My skin feels nourished, refreshed, and smoother than it did before using the mask.

I think this mask would also be a great travel essential for most of us out there. Since, as we all know, summer travel can take a toll on your skin. Why not pamper it with the Luminous Deep Hydrating Lifting Mask?

Here is what TATCHA has to say:

What it is:

This mask combines a proprietary red algae blend with our HADASEI-3™ Bioactive Complex. The silken serum infuses skin with powerful moisture-enriching actives resulting in smoother, more luminous skin in minutes.

Why it's different:

The unique coconut-derived biocellulose mask, developed originally to speed healing for burn victims, forms an occlusive layer on the skin that enables 53% deeper penetration vs. paper masks.

Who it's for:

Ideal for dry and combination skin.

How to use:

Begin with clean, dry skin. Unfold mask and pull tab to peel away one layer of mesh backing.  Place mask gel-side down on face and adjust to fit comfortably around eyes, nose, and mouth. Peel away remaining backing so that only the gel layer is left, and smooth mask to skin.  Leave on for 15 minutes and enjoy the cooling and gentle tingling sensation of the mask at work. Peel mask off, massage remaining serum into the skin and follow immediately with TATCHA Moisture Rich Silk Cream to seal in the long-lasting moisture. Skin will feel lifted and cool from the intense hydration.

This mask retails for $28.00, and can be purchased at www.tatcha.com!

    My Birthday!!

    Hey everyone!

The other day, it was my birthday!! And, now that I am well into my 20's (eek!) I have decided that I personally like smaller celebrations with just my main family around me.

The day before my birthday, I decided that I wanted to keep it simple, so we did a small cookout! We had hotdogs, homemade coleslaw, watermelon, and limeade! It was a great dinner, and a lot of fun!

The next morning, I woke up to beautiful tulips, presents, and birthday cards on the table just waiting for me!

I also found surprise birthday balloons in my room! I love how bright and cheerful they are!

For dessert, I made vanilla cupcakes and iced them with delicious buttercream frosting! The colors I picked out for the frosting was a bright lemon and a fun green!

For dinner that night, we started off with an Italian salad! We did Romaine lettuce with hot peppers, two different types of olives, cheese, and of course croutons. Delicious!

For the main course, me and my mom did homemade lasagna! It was a lot of fun to make, but more importantly, it tasted yummy!

And, no birthday would be complete without a cupcake and birthday candle! Because, as we all know, you have to make your birthday wishes!

Now onto the presents that I got from my mom and dad!

TATCHA Indigo Soothing Silk Hand Cream

    Hey everyone!

If you know me, then you know that I love a good hand cream. Recently, I was lucky enough to be sent the Indigo Soothing Stilk Hand Cream from TATCHA, and I love it!

My favorite things about this hand cream is its beautiful indigo hue, and how fast it absorbs into your skin without ever feeling greasy. As with all TATCHA products, the quality is superior. I feel like this tube will last me a while, because all you need is a little dab to moisture both hands.

I know that my hands suffer due to allergies, but this hand cream has really helped to keep them soothed and nourished!

Here is what TATCHA has to say:

    What it is:

Rich in anti-inflammatory Indigo, liquid Silk and Squalane, TATCHA's INDIGO Soothing Silk Hand Cream softens and soothes irritated skin.

    Why it’s different:

The stems, leaves and petals of the Indigo plant are steeped in water and fermented to make a concentrated botanical extract. Tryptanthrin and indirubin actives help reduce irritation and promote skin's natural healing abilities. The natural blue hue disappears upon application. Due to the natural botanical extract, the shade of Indigo may vary; the efficacy of the formulation remains the same.

    Who it's for:

Any skin type, especially sensitive, inflamed or irritated skin consistent with symptoms of dermatitis, eczema and rosacea.

    How to use:

To use, massage as needed onto clean, dry hands for long-lasting hydration. Absorbs effortlessly, leaving skin soothed and silken.

This product retails for $38.00, and can be purchased at www.tatcha.com!

    XoXo,
    Whitney

Aussie Kids Surfin' Strawberry Shampoo Review

    Hey everyone!

I have been trying like crazy to grow my hair back out. I had to get over 5 inches cut off last time, because it was so frizzy and gross! Recently, I discovered that my hair loves kid shampoos, so that it what I've been using! The latest one I've tried is Aussie Kids Surfin' Strawberry.

This shampoo smells delicious, and I love that it is more of a gel formula than cream. It doesn't weigh down my hair, and I've seen a definite improvement in my hair. It is softer and shinier than it has been in recent months.

As long as you don't have color treated hair (which requires special shampoo), I think this is a great, affordable shampoo to use!

    Whitney
